Syllable Four: Seeah [Lion's roar] (pronounced with your tongue behind the lower teeth and the upper
and lower teeth slightly parted) Element: Metal Season: Autumn Organ: Lungs/Large Intestine Method: · Stand in horse stance and bring your hands up to lower dan-tien with palms facing up. With your first inhalation bring the hands up to tan-jung. With your breath full, turn the palms down around an up again until they are facing outwards to either side, with the fingers pointing upwards. · Begin exhalation forming the ssss syllable through your mouth as you push your hands outward towards the sides. · When your arms are extended to the side with the elbows slightly bent, turn the palms towards the ground and slowly lower the arms back down to starting position. · Relax briefly and repeat six times. Benefit: Clears congestion from the lungs and lung meridian and stimulates large intestine energy. Removes excess heat in lungs and improves all respiratory functions. This is an effective remedy for colds, flu and other bronchial ailments. It is also useful for shoulder and upper back problems. |
